Additional Description: Arguably the most prominent person buried in the cemetery is, John Hulce, the first permanent settler in Deposit, who came in the spring of 1789. Prior to settling in the area that was named Coke-ose by the Delaware Indians, Hulce was a member of the Ulster County Militia, the New York 2nd regiment during the American Revolution.
