and Jeanne Boutiton, his wife.
In his third year he lost his Father.
And in his thirteenth his Mother.
This early privation not to be compensated,
Swept away the hopes,
That dawned on this Infancy.
Disappointment also made the progress
Of Succeeding years
But from limited reassurances
He spared the means to lay
The foundation for the
Education of his Nephew
James Louis Petigru.
Died at Badwell
18th Nov. 1817
Aged 46 years.
