Caption: Statue for the North Carolina Monument
Additional Description: Gutzon Borglum created this sculpture. He used photos of North Carolina veterans of the war as a basis. Orren Smith was the "model" for the color bearer. A wounded officer points and urges two solders onward toward the enemy, while Smith supports them with the colors.
