Poague
Photographer: Craig Swain
Caption: Poague's Battalion View
Additional Description: The battalion, as deployed on July 3, had a view of the northern portions of Cemetery Ridge. While the rifled guns of Graham's and Wyatt's Batteries were posted along the stone wall atop Seminary Ridge, those of Brooke's and Ward's Batteries were moved forward to the orchard around the Bliss Farm. That position was just right of center, in the open field between the ridges. The Federal positions on Cemetery Ridge in the distance span from the Bryan Farm (white buildings on the left) to the Codori Farm (red building on the right). Also seen on the ridge is the shaft of the U.S. Regulars Monument and the dome of the Pennsylvania Memorial.
