Caption: Titanic Memorial
Additional Description: The memorial was Authorized by Congress in 1917, sponsored by the Women's Titanic Memorial Association and originally installed in 1930 on Rock Creek Parkway at New Hampshire Avenue. It was dedicated on May 26, 1931. To make way for the Kennedy Center, it was removed to Fort Washington in 1966 and re-installed in its present location in 1968.
