Caption: The Confederate Soldier Statue
Additional Description: The face of this customized statue is said to have been modeled on local Confederate veteran Col. Spencer C. Jones. Although there is no documentary evidence to support this tradition, Col. Jones did play a major role in planning of the dedication ceremony which took place on June 3, 1913.
