Additional Description: Like most of the statues along the Paseo de la Reforma, the statue has a marker on both sides. This marker found on the reverse of the statue has different wording from the front marker. It reads:
Jose Miguel Ramos Arizpe
Doctor en Filosofia
Nacio en Coahuila
en el año de 1775;
Diputado Constituyente
por Puebla en 1842,
Defendio el gobierno
central repartido en
diferentes órganos, se
le conocio como el
Padre de Federalismo.
Murio en el año de 1843.

English translation:
José Miguel Ramos Arizpe.
Doctor of Philosophy. Born in Coahuila in 1775. Deputy to the Constituent Congress for Puebla in 1842. Defended the central government in multiple positions, becoming known as the Father of Federalism. Died in 1843.
