Thomas Black 3rd Marker
Photographer: Bill Coughlin
Taken: May 16, 2017
Caption: Thomas Black 3rd Marker
Additional Description: Thomas Black was a lifeguard in Sea Girt who joined in efforts to rescue people from the SS Morro Castle as it burned offshore. High waves prevented the launching of lifeboats, so Black and others swam out to where the surf broke and pulled in 15 people, many of whom were near death.
