Caption: Section Section of the Troup Artillery Position
Additional Description: The section occupied a position near the tablet location. Flanking the tablet are two 12-pounder Field Howitzers. On the left is a Model of 1835, cast in 1837 by Cyrus Alger of Boston, Massachusetts. On the right is a Model of 1841, cast in either 1846 or 1847 by Ames Co., of Chicopee, Massachusetts. The Model of 1835 weighed slightly less, being slimmer than the Model of 1841. The exact model numbers used by the battery are not recorded.
