Caption:
The First Section of the Troup Artillery View | Additional Description: From their position on July 2, the gunners of the first section of the Troup Artillery could see the crest of Little Round Top (here in the distant center) and some of the battleground in between. However, due to undulations in the terrain, the observers were unable to directly see the fighting in areas such as the Peach Orchard, Wheatfield, and Plum Run Valley. Big Round Top is rising just to the right of this photo in the distance.
