Caption: A Boeing (Douglas) B-17G "Flying Fortress."
Additional Description: This B-17G was the second to last made by Douglas Aircraft Company under contract with Boeing, and rolled off the assembly line in July 1945. It has been painted to replicate an aircraft flown by Major General Lewis E. Lyle, a World War II B-17 pilot of the 303rd Bombardment Group, even down to the tail number -- 42-31340.
