Caption: The Hendrickson Building
Additional Description: 17 year old John D. Hendrickson began working in Parson's store in Frederick in 1872. By 1877 he owned the business and moved into this Richardsonian Romanesque building in 1888. He shared the building, designed by J. A. Dempwolf, with the Frederick News and the Mutual Insurance Co. of Frederick County. Henrickson's Dry Goods took over the entire building in 1922 and occupied it until 1980.
