Additional Description:
As late as 1925 the American Screw Company was the largest manufacturer of wood screws in the country. Most of the giant mill complex was destroyed by fire in 1971. The Stillman-White Foundry and two other buildings survive just north of here along the bank of the Moshassuck River.
