Caption: Nearby monument dedicated to Allende
Additional Description: Just north of the Ex-Convent is this statue of Mexican Independence leader Ignacio Allende. The monument only reads "1810-1910", indicating that it was constructed during the 100th anniversary celebrations of the traditional beginning of the struggle for Mexican independence from Spain in 1810.
