Site of Fort Washington | Additional Description: Fort Washington, used during the Revolutionary War, was located in what is now Bennett Park near the marker. The outline of the fort is indicated by the granite blocks seen in the photo. The inscription "Fort Washington built and defended by the American Army 1776" marks the site.
