Caption: Curtiss 1911 Model D
Additional Description: One of Curtiss's first customers was the United States Army. The Army Signal Corps purchased its second aircraft from Curtiss (the first being a Wright flyer). The original was scrapped, but the U.S. Air Force Museum in Dayton Ohio built this reproduction to exacting standards using the original drawings.
