Caption: Educating Riggins' Children Marker
Additional Description: Captions: (upper center) The fourth school's playground was a huge, room-size boulder which provided a variety of play opportunities for these 23 children and adults.; (bottom center) Riggins fifth schoolhouse, as seen here in 1957, was built in 1921. Until 1940, grades 1 through 10 were taught here with 11th ad 12th grade students required to travel to White Bird or board out at Grangeville. When the building for the four-year high school was completed in 1940, this building was used for elementary grades.; (top left) Early Salmon River school bus circa 1930.
