General Thomas Ruger | Additional Description: Ruger graduated third in his class (1854) at West Point. He resigned and worked as a lawyer before the war. When war broke out, he became a Lt. Col. in the 3rd Wisconsin Infantry. During the war he commanded at Brigade and Division level. Remaining in the Army after the war, he retired a Major General in 1897, and died in 1907
