Caption: 33rd Massachusetts Monument and Position
Additional Description: Looking down from Stevens Knoll at the monument location at the intersection of Slocum and Wainwright Avenues. The 33rd occupied a position in the low ground between East Cemetery Hill (background, with monuments) and Stevens Knoll on July 2nd and 3rd, 1863. Their line effectively covered the right flank of Von Gilsa's Brigade, of 1st Division, XI Corps.
