The Chandler Wobble
Photographer: Allen C. Browne
Taken: June 23, 2012
Caption: The Chandler Wobble
Additional Description: As the Earth rotates on its axis it exhibits a wobbling motion. The wobble is named the Chandler Wobble, after it's discoverer, Seth Carlo Chandler, Jr.

This diagram may be somewhat misleading in that it fails to distinguish the Chandler wobble from precession.
