The captions read as follows: Top Left: Major General Arthur St. Clair was a Revolutionary War veteran born in Scotland, the governor of the Northwest Territory and was the commander of the American troops during the Battle of the Wabash, also known as St. Clair's defeat. Top Right: Mihšihkinaahkwa (Little Turtle) was a Miami war chief born on the Eel River in what is northeast Indiana and was one of the principle leaders of the American Indian alliance in the Battle of the Wabash.
