Additional Description: HILTON HOTEL WHITE PLAZA HOTEL | 1925 1933 Main Street Lang & Witchell (Dallas), Architects This fourteen-story building was Conrad Hilton’s first high-rise hotel and the first to bear his name. Hilton guided the layout of the building, placing a variety of services that he felt were essential to good hotel operation in the two-story base. Above it, the U-shaped tower maximized ventilation and lighting. The Sullivanesque composition features Beaux Arts detailing. Hilton gave up control of the hotel in 1938 and it was renamed the White Plaza Hotel.
