Caption: Defensive Line of the 44th New York
Additional Description: The 44th defended the south side of Little Round Top along what is sometimes called the "Vincent Spur" during the critical phases of the fighting on the hill. On their right was the 16th Michigan. To their left was the 83rd Pennsylvania.
