Additional Description: During the height of the fighting, the 86th opposed elements of the 1st Texas and 15th Georgia, in the Rose Woods. For a considerable amount of time, the The woods seen here on the west side of Sickles Avenue are different that what confronted the soldiers at the time. The wood lot had less underbrush at the time of the battle.
