Lauderdale Springs C.S.A. Cemetery Marker
Photographer: Mark Hilton
Taken: October 4, 2019
Caption: Lauderdale Springs C.S.A. Cemetery Marker
Additional Description: Only 14 of the 1100 grave markers here have names on them, the rest are marked Unknown Soldier. Local historians do not believe the 80 Union soldiers are actually buried here. The cemetery is owned by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Winnie Davis #24 Chapter.
There are no remains under these markers. The actual bodies of the troops were buried in mass graves nearby as was common all over the country.
