Inset marker photo: Locomotive "Pioneer" | Additional Description: Locomotive "Pioneer,” one of the first four locomotives operated by the SVRR, circa 1868. Built at the Globe Locomotive Works
in Boston in 1849, the locomotive was shipped 15,000 miles around Cape Horn to Califoria.
