Additional Description: The building behind you was built in 1907 as the ticket office for the Hudson River Day Line, one of America's most successful steamboat passenger lines, serving tens of thousands of travelers each year. In 1948, the Day Line made its last run from Albany to New York City, bringing to an end the era of steamboat travel on the Hudson River that began with Robert Fulton's maiden voyage of the Clermont in 1807.
