Norfolk and Western Passenger Station Marker | Additional Description: The station’s design featured stainless steel, the concourse over the tracks had large glass windows offering a view of the tracks below. Note the stainless in the baggage area at right. The concourse was removed in 1992 to allow double-stack container trains to clear under the building. The train sheds (beside the track) were removed less than a year after the end of passenger service in the winter of 1971-72.
