Photographer: Craig Swain
Taken: November 11, 2008
Caption: First Position of Candy's Brigade
Additional Description: Looking from the intersection of Sedgwick Avenue and Wheatfield Road to the north. Until the brigade was posted to the east on Culp's Hill, Candy's Brigade occupied a line on the far south end of Cemetery Ridge. The troops moved into line on the evening of July 1, along the ridge line to the right, in what is now covered with trees. The 5th Ohio and 147th Pennsylvania occupied the far left end of the line on Little Round Top (to the rear of the camera in from this point).
