In 1882, by mandate of Most Rev. John Sweeney, Bishop of Saint John, the Catholic Community of Moncton became the Parish of St. Bernard and Rev. Henry A. Meahan its first pastor who erected this church in 1888.

This Centennial Plaque was unveiled by Most Rev. Donat Chiasson, Archbishop of Moncton, October 17, 1982.

En 1882, mandatée par Monseigneur John Sweeney, évêque de Saint Jean, la mission catholique de Moncton devenait la paroisse Saint-Bernard et le révérend Henry A. Meahan premier curé qui érigea cette église en 1888.

Cette plaque commémorative du centenaire fut dévoilée par Monseigneur Donat Chiasson, archevêque de Moncton, le 17 octobre 1982.
