Caption: South Cavalry Battlefield
Additional Description: Looking toward South Confederate Avenue from the trail up Bushman Hill on the south end of the battlefield. The 1st West Virginia along with other elements of Farnsworth's Brigade attacked the Confederate infantry line on the south end of the battlefield in the afternoon of July 3. An ill-fated charge, the 1st West Virginia was repulsed on their line by the 1st Texas Infantry.
