Caption: Advance of the Massachusetts Regiments
Additional Description: Looking south from the marker location. The US Regulars Memorial stands in the center of view. From the far right, down the wall from the 7th Michigan Infantry monument is a large stone incorporated into the monument for the 20th Massachusetts. The 15th Massachusetts was a bit further down the line. Both Massachusetts regiments were among the troops that advanced across the ground here to flank the Confederate penetration at the angle.
