Caption: Napa Courthouse Flag Staff
Additional Description: Completed in Frebruary 1893, the Napa Valley Register (2/24/1893) described the dedication: "At precisely 12 minutes past 10 o'clock Wednesday, Supervisor Deweese raised the flag to the top of the new staff recently erected in Court House square. The proceeding was introduced by music from Prof. Simonds' College Band and witnessed by about 300 people. As the flag was hoisted, the band played 'The Star Spangled Banner' and the crowd cheered."
