Additional Description: David and Francisquita Romero were Victor Romero's parents and his immediate neighbors. Homesteading was a difficult undertaking on the arid Pajarito Plateau, where dry farming had to be practiced. Extended families often shared the work in the loosely communal life of the plateau.
