Marker detail: Today

Caption: Marker detail: Today's Concentrator
Additional Description: Ore found in the Santa Rita Mine is only about 0.6% copper, which is too low to be sent to a smelter. To recover the metal, the copper ore is crushed and sent to a nearby concentrator (not visible from this location.) This concentrator was built in 1982 and replaced the original 1911 concentrator.
