"Robbers Row" Interpretive Marker , "Rufugee Quarters" | Additional Description: "Rufugee Quarters" were built with
Government money to house the
newly-freed slaves who came by the
hundreds to Hilton Head. These gray,
weather-boarded duplexes were by no
means luxurious, but were scenically
located.
