Carnegie Library Dedication Stone
Photographer: Andrew Ruppenstein
Taken: February 28, 2009
Caption: Carnegie Library Dedication Stone
Additional Description: In 1905 the city received a Carnegie grant of $10,000 for the construction of the library. Total cost was $13,158, with the Colusa Women's Club raising the difference. Those familiar with Roman numerals will note the difference in construction dates between the historical marker and the dedication stone. The odd looking orange material visible in the picture is a lichen of sorts.
