55th Ohio Infantry Monument | Additional Description: The regiment was arrayed covering the intersection of Taneytown and Emmitsburg Roads just south of the town of Gettysburg. At the time of the battle, the town ended north of this point. The ground around here was open fields with stone walls bordering the roads.
