Caption: 68th New York Infantry Monument
Additional Description: Looking from the left flank marker stone (shared with the 54th New York) toward the monument. The 68th New York suffered heavily in the first day's fighting, while posted between Carlisle Road and Barlow's Knoll. After their retreat through Gettysburg, the regiment reformed here along Brickyard Road, facing east.
