Caption: 5th New Jersey Skirmish Line
Additional Description: Standing about 400 yards in front of the monument looking southwest toward Seminary Ridge. In the treeline in the distant center is the Seminary Ridge observation tower. The 5th New Jersey maintained a skirmish line forward in this area in the afternoon of July 2. To their right were companies of the 1st U.S. Sharpshooters. On their right was a skirmish line from the 63rd Pennsylvania Infantry.
