105th Pennsylvania Position from the Left Flank Marker Stone
Photographer: Craig Swain
Taken: February 21, 2009
Caption: 105th Pennsylvania Position from the Left Flank Marker Stone
Additional Description: Looking north on Emmitsburg Road from the left flank marker stone. Also seen here is the tablet for First Brigade (Graham's), First Division, Third Corps. The regiment would advance across Emmitsburg Road (to the left), but then fall back under pressure from Barksdale's Confederate Brigade, specifically the 18th Mississippi Infantry. After falling back, the regiment changed facing, aligned roughly on what is today United States Avenue, on the right of this photo, beyond the fences.
