Additional Description: Directly next to the marker is a dedication plaque, celebrating the pole's centennial:

Restored Flag Pole - Dedicated September 9, 2005
Originally located downtwon at Livermore Avenue and First Street. Taken down on October 7, 2004, due to structural deterioration. Restored to a height of 56 feet, with original gilded ball, rope hook, and pulleys. Rededicated here exactly 100 years from the date when it was first raised.
