Marker detail: Slow Burn to Charcoal

Caption: Marker detail: Slow Burn to Charcoal
Additional Description: The wood chips that resulted from the use of the adze and a bent gouge were placed in small piles and burned in a slow manner. This method requires that the canoe be observed and attended at all times while the flames burn a small thickness of log to charcoal, which is then scraped away.
