Hornet Balls.
Photographer: Kevin White
Taken: August 30, 2007
Caption: Hornet Balls.
Additional Description: These seven ton crushing balls were used to crush large rocks to eventually retrieve the gold. Although still a mystery, these balls were thought to run off a steam engine and roll around in a small trough while water and agitation was used to break up the rocks.
