Additional Description: Within Founders Grove, right by the trailhead, is Founders Tree. As indicated by the sign, it clocks in at more than 340 feet in height and 40 feet in circumfrence. Also visible is a plaque by the California State Park Commission from 1931 dedicating the tree to the three founders of the Save the Redwoods League, Madison Grant, John C. Merriam, and Henry Fairfield Osborn.
