Additional Description: Freaner (1831-1878) served in the 1st Virginia Cavalry and later served as an assistant inspector general on the staff of Major General J.E.B. Stuart and later on the staff of Major General Wade Hampton. Freaner was one of the first trustees of nearby Washington Confederate Cemetery.
