Thomas Young Seymour | Additional Description: This portrait of Lieutenant Thomas Youngs Seymour is part of a set of miniatures of Revolutionary War military officers painted by John Trumbull in preparation for several history paintings. Seymour became a lieutenant of the Second Continental Dragoons in 1777, during his senior year at Yale College. In Trumbull’s painting "The Surrender of General Burgoyne at Saratoga", Seymour is mounted on the black horse at the left.
