Caption: Washington Monument looking west on Monument Street
Additional Description: The 1906 Severn Teackle Wallis Monument in foreground. The bronze of the prominent Baltimore lawyer, poet, author and orator is by the French sculptor Laurent Honore Marqueste (1848-1920) and is 7¾ feet high on a 6½ foot base. Mr. Wallis was born in 1816 and died in 1894.
