Eagle Attacking a Serpent | Additional Description: The inscription on the back - "Raclawice" - is a reference to the location where Kosciuszko surrendered to Czarist forces in 1794. After the American Revolution, Kosciuszko returned to his native Poland to fight for its freedom. Defeated, he was imprisoned for several years. He would die in 1817 in Switzerland.
