Marker detail: The Avery Beach Hotel– Established in the 1880s | Additional Description: This elegant hotel was located on the northwest corner of North Shore Drive and Avery Street. The resort consisted of a pavilion, 100 rooms, parlors, offices, and seven cottages. It became the leader of the booming resort business in South Haven. The entire resort was destroyed by fire in 1907.
